2NE1 is Safe, Japan and Other Coastal Countries Still on High Alert

For those of you who do not know, earlier on Friday an 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of northern Japan. It was followed by powerful aftershocks that were felt in capital of Tokyo. It unleashed a 23-foot (7-meter) tsunami that swept boats, cars, buildings and tons of debris miles inland.

Even for a country used to earthquakes, this one was of horrific proportions. The Tokyo metro system says all train and subway traffic in the city has been stopped. Tokyo's Haneda airport has reopened its four runways to accommodate traffic from other airports, including Narita.

Thus, it should come as no suprise that Music Station as well as a host of other shows have been cancelled and replaced with news updates.

Originally planned to perform first on the show, 2NE1's appearance has not been put on indefinite hold. 2NE1 was scheduled to return to South Korea on March 12th, however due to the influx of traffic at Haneda airport, their current travel arrangments are not known. YG Representatives have reported that 2NE1 is safe, however, due to poor phone service, additional information is not currently known. Dara, ever keeping Blackjacks updated, recently posted that they were safe.

The situation is bigger than just 2NE1's debut. The National Weather Service list has issued tsunami warnings in approximately several countries including: Japan, Russia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Fiji, Mexico, New Zealand, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and the United States. The first of several anticipated tsunamis are expected to reach US shores within the hour.

Reports are coming in that Russa and New Zealand may have been given the all clear.

If you live in any of those countries, please be safe. If you know of anyone living in those countries, we urge you to your good thoughts and prayers out to them.
